These three key movements define fall 2026 (2/3)
The second trend direction New Femininity is the strongest and is expressed above all through silhouette, surfaces, details and decoration.
- In particular, the blouse is making a strong comeback and is becoming the new statement piece. It comes in a variety of decorative interpretations: with bows and pussy-bow ties, ruffles and tie-like details, animal or checked prints, as well as flowing frills. Rhinestones and embroidery add targeted accents – on the collar or across the blouse itself – giving it a decorative and expressive character.
But it is not only the blouse that becomes a canvas for decoration. Decorative elements are seen throughout, with brooches, 3D flowers, appliqués and glitter effects adorning knitwear, blazers, sweaters and denim.
- Voluminous sleeves remain a recurring theme throughout the season, further emphasising the importance of silhouette.
- The lingerie top emerges as a versatile all-rounder. It is never worn on its own, but consistently styled through layering. Under a tailored blazer, it creates a deliberate contrast; under a knitted sweater, only the hem may peek out; or it can be layered under a cardigan. This makes the lingerie top a versatile component of the overall look.
- The skirt becomes the true star of the season. It appears in a variety of materials and surfaces – from leather and satin to rustic knitwear, as well as in the lingerie look.
- Dresses also evolve towards a slimmer silhouette, with the waist moving back into focus. It is often accentuated with ruching or a bow detail. Full sleeves and pronounced darts shape the silhouette and give the dresses their distinctive line. Sleeve volume remains the most striking and recurring element, adding a clear statement to the silhouette.
